Question Fuel Gauge Problems?

Hello everyone! I am new to this site and have a question about my husbands 05 Ford F150? Does anyone know if Ford has had any fuel gauge problems? Just recently I have noticed that after I fill up, the gauge takes a LONG time to read FULL?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Welcome to the site. Ford has had that problem for awhile now in certain models. I work for the railroad and we've got some F250 diesels and they have that problem. After we fill them up it will take awhile to read "FULL". I've found that when I turn the truck off and turn it back on that it will be fine. I recommend taking it to the dealer. I've heard that the newer ones have a bad sensor between the fuel take and the block but not all of them.

Question

thanks for the info. i will have him try it. I was wondering if you knew if Ford has like a system reboot thing. our old Dodge had this thing where you turn the ignition on and off two times and then on the third time leave it in the "on" position it would run its own diagnostic test or something where it would reboot all the gauges and stuff???..and if anything was wrong it would give you a code to look up on the internet??? i am not sure what this is called, but do you know if Ford trucks have something like that???
