Default Ford guy new to the forums!

Hey guys, been a long time Ford guy, happy to be around a bunch of others! First a little background on my cars/trucks and experiences. I was at one time a GM guy who hated Fords. After owning a few GM products that of course died prematurely I happened upon a 1993 For Escort LX 1.9L, bought in 2007 for all of $200. I hated that thing passionately every day I had to drive it, but it continued to run. At 234,000 miles around 2009 it was swamped underwater during a hard storm where the roads flooded, never would have guessed the water was 3+ feet deep until I drove into it and the car floated away. The engine sucked in water and never started again.

I have had quite a few other cars and trucks since then from a 1984 Nissan 300ZX up to a 1999 Mercury Cougar. I began to convert over to the Ford side after not only that Escort, but a certain 1987 Ranger 2.9 V6, which finally died at 249,000 miles due to a lack of engine oil after borrowing it to a friend, who neglected to fill the oil that was lost due to burn off.

In all, I have owned 18 cars since high school. Most were GM, all of which ended up in the junkyard due to engine/trans failure. Prematurely I might add. I once had a 94 Grand Prix that blew 2 head gaskets at 105,000 miles. Three GM cars I had lasted all of a few months and died. Ford has yet to do me wrong! In 2010 I made the full switch to Ford after selling my 1993 Chrysler New Yorker and buying my 99 Cougar, and now refuse to own anything else. I even hate when I have to drive a General Mistake product that one of my family members own. I do tolerate my brother's 05 Ram Hemi, though. Got nothing against Mopar, I just prefer Ford.

Fast forward to now. I just recently bought (Well, leased to be exact) a brand new 2015 F 150 XL 4x4 with the 2.7 Eco in it. My old truck, a 1998 F 150 XLT 4x4 4.6 which I still have yet, has reached the point of needing more maintenance than it is worth. So it was time for something new! The 2.7 interested me immediately. While I love big v8's and currently own a 429 4V powered 64 Galaxie, for a daily driver the 2.7 looked the best. It can tow my hot rod, bike, and step Dad's Lund when I so desire and get decent MPGs to and from work. No brainer, right?

All I can say is wow! I knew the Ecoboost mills had some high power output that makes my old 4.6 look sick, but this thing equals my hot rod for seat of the pants power output! I didn't even try the 5.0. I went with the 2.7 right away. This thing is a dream! It is by far the newest vehicle I've ever owned so it's hard to compare features and power to my other trucks, but it kills my buddie's 06 Yukon Denali for felt power.

Anyways, glad to be here. Hope to learn all about this new marvel of technology I will likely have for the next 30 years! Sorry for the wall of text Time to make my Vortech crap box driving family jealous!
