Deciding between Tundra Limited 4X4 and F-150 Lariat 4X4
I need some help on deciding my next pickup. I know both trucks have their advantages and disadvantages over one another but here is what I know. Can you add so I can make the best decision :
Advantage of the 2008 Tundra Limited on the 2009 F-150 Lariat:
1) Bigger brakes.
2) Lighter in weight.
3) Bigger, more powerful engine.
4) Better incentives/dealer discounts, etc.
5) Better overall quality (much less repairs required with age. Especially powertrain parts).
6) Better resale value.
7) Manufacturer is in less financial trouble.
8) Better-looking leather interior.
Advantage of the 2009 F-150 Lariat over the 2008 Tundra Limited:
1) Newer model year.
2) Boxed, tougher frame.
3) Better suspension for an easier ride.
4) Transmission cooler and fail-safe system.
5) Better-looking exterior.
Both 2008 Tundra and 2009 F-150 4X4 trucks tie in:
fuel efficiency, warranty, safety features, payload, towing.

I have a buddy who bought a new '08 and doesn't really like it. It sucks gas, I get better mileage than he does and mine is a '97 with a lot more miles. He has done some upgrades, but still isn't that happy with it. Depends on what you are using the truck for, but if you are like us, you want a truck that will work. F series is the #1 truck on the market.

Dont know if you have looked at the build quality of auto makers recently but i do beleive toyota is not #1 anymore. In the last 15 years american auto companies have improved their build quality dramaticly. The New F150 looks so sophisticated, and interesting, the tundra is bland and oddly shapped. Go with the F150.
