Default Corroded Battery Terminal

I have a 2012 FX4 Ecoboost with a corroded positive battery terminal. It was so bad that the bottom part of the terminal that wraps around the post has rotted off. I've searched auto part stores and I can't find a in kind replacement so I decided to call the dealership and get one from them, but I was informed that you can't buy just the battery terminal, you have to buy the complete wiring harness that comes with a new terminal for only $260. After I cleaned the terminal I checked the water level in the battery and the first cell under the positive post was low. I added roughly 4ozs of water. This has got to be what's causing the problem. I talked to a service manager and he told me that it's not covered under warranty. Imagine that. So the big question I have for y'all is has anyone found a replacement terminal? If so where?

Appreciate the help in advance.

Replace battery with a new one.
Almost all autoparts stores sell new terminals that bolt on with 2 small bolts. Cut off the old terminal. Peel back insulation enough as needed....maybe 3/4 of an inch. Tighten pinch bolts.
Do up the terminal on the new battery snugly.
Then i like to coat the terminals in grease or vaseline.
