"Converted" Chevy Fan
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan. I'm from the Illinois Quad Cities, on the Mississippi River at the Iowa border. I've had a Z71 Ext. Cab that I bought new in 2004 and put 125,000 good miles on with no complaints. So when I went looking for a truck this time, I have known several happy F150 owners. Coupled with Ford not taking a buy out from my tax dollars, I decided I need to give Ford a shot.
I picked up an 06 XLT Crew Cab 4WD with 80,000 with an awesome trade for 20K out the door. So as much as this is a Ford forum, the Chevy did me no wrong and since I took awesome care of it I worked a fantastic trade. I'm not looking to do a ton of mods to the truck, but plan on adding some power under the hood, a few toys on the dash, and maybe some overpriced seat covers to save them from my dogs.
As of week 2 of ownership, I'm happy with my purchase. It's a little more of what I call a "truck" ride, but not the Dodge ride like I had when I used to have old Power Wagon's 15 years ago!
