Question Any tire suggestions for my 2005 XLT 4x4 with no lift kit?

Hey all you F-150 guys and gals, I was just wondering if you had any suggestions on what tires to buy for my new-to-me 2005 F-150 XLT 4X4 with stock suspension? I was planning to stick with the stock rims for now.

It came with Hankook P235s mounted and I hate them already. They feel like mushy banana peels driving down the road. Looking for something aggressive that can be taken offroad and tough enough to haul loads with.

On my old 2001 F-150 Lariat FX4 4X4 I had Cooper Discoverer LT275s tires mounted up and they did pretty good but not sure they would have enough clearance on this XLT with the stock suspension.

Is 255/70-17 really the largest I can go with my 2005 XLT?

Any tire suggestions you guys have to recommend for off road use on my XLT?

I might add a little lift kit down the road but not really an option at this point given my current budget.

I would love a set of these BF Goodrich tires but they are pretty pricey at about $212 each. Would like to find something for affordable but have had good luck with those All Terrains in the past.
