Smile 2006 F150 Lariat Super Crew 4 X 4

Hi All,

I visited this site for the first time today. I put my 2006 F150 4 X 4 in for service today with a few issues. I came to this site to see if anybody else is having the same problems.

1: A/C takes forever to cool on a 90+ degree day. I set it to MAX cool as the Manual says but it takes at least 20 minutes to cool. I have beige leather interior, I could only imagine how bad it would be if it were black.

2: Truck failed to start normally. Second attempt required the accelerator to be depreessed. After it started the low oil pressure light came on then my wife drove it home less than two miles. The light hasn't come on since but know it gets just over 11 MPG comparred to the 14 MPG's it was getting for the last 9k.

Sorry for the long intro, hope to here from you.

Rob

Greetings and welcome to the board. I am sure that some of the folks around here could answer your questions. Give them just a little bit of time.

A/C - the easiest and most likely cause would be low freon. Have a shop put the gauges on the system - that will give better direction. One question - are your vents working properly - that is, are they sending the air where it's supposed to go, do you hear the MAX damper operating?

Hard starting - first step recommended here is check for any computer codes to avoid the expensive trial-and-error approach. Given what you've said, I would trust that the computer would have flagged something.

Cool New compressor

Dealer replaced compressor, they said it had a leak. No problems found when scanning the computer. They said they loaded the current load into the computer.

We'll see how it goes.

Thanks.
