Default 4 hours to wash my truck! Has to be a better way, right?

Nice sunny day so I took the opportunity to wash my new tuxedo black Harley davidson f150. Washed it in the shade but still got horrible water spots. Ended up having to wax the whole thing just to get rid of the spots. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but I shouldn't have to do that every time I wash it.

Any suggestions?

really? it's Fords fault you got water spots, cause that's what it sounds like your saying.

Wash it in direct sunlight so the water evaporates before you get spots!

I wash a section or two at a time and dry. Helps with the spots. Also, use or change your car wash (Meguiars or other). Search for softener I've seen that metioned hear I think....

You can't expect not to get waterspots without drying it. You also must have very hard water to get spots that you need to wax off.

Get yourself some nice microfiber towels and dry immediately after you wash ringing out your cloth VERY often. If you're still not happy....pick up some Lucas Slick Mist http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?catid=18&iid=79&loc=show

Spray it on and wipe it off. I use it all the time.

Optimum no rinse wash and shine. Best stuff I've ever found to eliminate water spots.

I've got the same Tuxedo Black HD and I wash mine in the shade with the paint nice and cool, then I use my leaf blower to get rid of most of the water then try to towel dry it fast and usually don't get water spots. If you wash it in the shade but the paint surface isn't cool....you may as well be in the sun because it will spot real fast.

I've heard the Costco Spotless Water System works really well....just not sure I want to invest in something like that.

My brother lives in the country and has a well with a water softener system and he finds that he gets alot less water spotting on his vehicles with half the effort.

I don't worry too much about water spots. I usually just use some kind of quick detailer and a microfiber towel if I see any. You'd be amazed how much better a vehicle looks if you use a quick detailer spray on the paint after washing.
