If you plastic is exposed to lots of sun (high UV) it will happen over time. You can put protectants on there like Aerospace 303, or some of the various professionally installed plastic coatings.

To add to Greg's advice, if you're applying a protectant yourself, you will need to apply it regularly. They will help, but they won't last for long. Most colorants used in plastics have a UV stabilizer added (the cheapest and most effective of them being carbon black which is what makes black plastic trim black.)

Figure that if those concentrations, molded internally to the plastic, break down over time, what you apply on the surface will be attacked even quicker.

Are you trying to keep the grey look or looking for a black dye product?

Default Used a heat gun to restore faded fenders

A heat gun restored my grey fenders on my 06 F150 Screw

I bought a $22 Heat gun off amazon and restored my faded fenders. It worked perfectly. I can't wait to restore the rest of my plastic around the truck. Everyone thinks I bought new fenders and it makes my truck look brand new again.

I've just used the Gtechniq C4 plastic trim restorer and I thought it looked great! I will post pics in a months time to see what the CA. valley will do to the plastics this year! I've used several dye restoration products and while they worked, I hated feeling like I was painting the surface and if it got on paint and dried? Good luck getting that off easily. So, I've tried out the C4 and we shall see how it holds up this Summer. I'll try and post some pics this weekend if I have time to wash my truck.
