New guy here but Sonax Polymer Netshield beads and sheets water better than any other sealant I've tried. Plus it goes on and off easy and can be used over rubber, plastics, and glass. Comes in a small spray can that can easily do 4 plus cars. The look of your wax, sealant etc is influenced heavily by how much work you put into correcting the paint first.

Here's a pic of my wife's escape using sonax. Every inch of the car is sealed besides the tires.

I kinda feel that way about Blackfire Wet Diamond AFPP. A nice "look" and slickness.
I like it alone or if the mood hits me I might top it with a coat of BF Midnight Sun wax.
Oddly enough, although I like the "Wet Ice over Fire" look. IMHO BFWD alone has better slickness.
The only sealant I've ever used is Klasse and until I bought the '12 F150 the only vehicle I've ever sealed was the Solstice (which obviously doesn't require much product to finish!) When I finally use it up I will likely try the BFWD or Collinite.

I might suggest BFWD on dark and Coli on light. Which Collinite wax are you interested in using?

I've read the raves on the Coli 845 especially on light colors.

Fine - I just doubled my product costs. lol

Good information here, thanks to everyone.

I'm looking to do the following
Wash
claybar
Liquid glass for sealer
coli 845 wax, possibly several coats

Does this sound like a good plan?

I'm looking for durability/longevity since I usually don't get many warm days past september for adding additional layers of wax. Once salt season starts it's weekly touchless automatic washes until warmer weather, usually late April.

Wax does not equal longevity. Research sealers for the longest lasting one and if you wanna go extreme, get a coating and never have to do it again. So far sealer wise I've tried the sonax I've listed above, meguires, and menzerna powerlock. As far as Beading, ease of application and washing away dirt, the sonax Polymer Netshield wins hands down. Lots of times my car looks like it's been washed after it rains. The stuff is great. I don't know about its longevity but it seems like it will last a while. It goes on so easy it could be reapplied almost as fast as using detailer. The menzerna powerlock sealer a close second has lasted me 6 months through winter and was still slightly beading in the spring. Make sure after you claybar you while the car down with a 50 50 isopropyl alcohol water mix to remove anything left on the paint so your sealer adheres better. This will help it last.

I looked at professionally applied coatings and unfortunately they're above my budget for the year, blew most of the wad on the new truck and still plan new tires for winter.

In the past I have polished (race glaze), then 3-4 coats of caranuba wax late summer into fall will usually keep water beading into about February-March time frame, with weekly automatic car washes. I was under the impression you can build up layers of wax to help it last longer.

I'll put the sonax on my list of sealants, thanks for the tip.

Here's the cheapest price you can find it

Here's a video on how little you need to use and how easy it is to apply.

I use Ultima paint guard plus on my mustang. It lasts a very long time and is very easy to apply.
