polished, sealed, waxed 2014 King Ranch and 2014 Ram Sport
winter is just around the corner so my friend and I spent the weekend getting our trucks ready and making sure they were protected from the coming salt.
mine is a platinum white 2014 King Ranch, his is a 2014 Ram 1500 Sport. since both of our trucks are still very new and have not seen many miles, very little paint correction was needed.
this is the process we used:
-washed with Dawn dish soap using 2-bucket method to strip old wax
-claybarred with Mothers California Gold clay
-dried with California water blade and waffle weave towels
-made minor corrections to paint using Klasse AIO, and then treated all painted surfaces with light coat of AIO, buffed clean with microfiber
-two coats of Klasse SG, buffed clean with microfiber (this stuff is MUCH easier to remove if you use a quick detailer to dampen the towel you are using to remove)
-called it quits for the night, allowed the final coat of SG to cure for 10 hours
-finished up with two coats of Souveran paste wax, let each coat sit for 60 minutes before buffing clean with microfiber. also coated all lights and windows.
it was 40 degrees and raining when we finished up so we snapped a few pictures (unfortunately all just taken with an iPhone, nothing fancy) and then got to see how the wax looked in the rain. I'm very happy with the results, although the pearl white paint doesn't really show off the hard work as much as my friend's deep blue paint does.
