Pin stripe will not come off!
I have a black 99 f150, with 140k on it. I am trying to remove the pin stripe. Basically i spent 5 hours today on it and I only made it about 6 feet down one side. The sticker pin stripe is really baked on there, as well as cracked and faded. I have tried the following:
-3m adhesive removal wheel (did not phase it even with a powerful drill)
-adhesive spray removal
-heat gun
-plastic razer blade (these are worthless)
-ice scraper
-the back of a butter knife
-Mineral spirits (a paint shop told me this. I was scaring about using it, but it did not work anyway)
-a CD
So far, the only combo of the above that will work is the heat gun, followed by spraying it with adhesive remover, and scraping off with the ice scraper (which i have to keep sanding to keep it sharp), or a CD (which scratches it a little..surface only). This process is taking way too long, and in some spots does not work at all.
What else is there to try??

Sanding it off and painting the truck is really the only other option.
That thing has probably been on there since 1999. Unless you are willing to let it sit in a bake booth at a body shop for a few hours to EVENLY heat it up, you might just want to keep going and doing what you know is working the best.
Good luck. I have been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

If the stuff is that dried on there I'd try compound and a buffing wheel. Also as a side note it works on painted stripes couldn't say with the sticker type but Easy-Off Oven cleaner might do the job. That's what I used to remove the pinstripes on my doors.

Have u tried dry ice? Freeze it with the dry ice and hit it with the ice scraper. Took me 40 minutes to remove pin stripes from 95 F150 with this method.
