Default Oxidation on Paint

Looking to see if anyone has any experience with removing oxidation from paint. There is a youtube video but it's not detailed.. I have it on 2 of my vehicles.. Mainly.. The **** is on my truck and I want it off..

Anybody got any ideas or products i should use? Or should i take it to a dealer and let them fix it?

I may be wrong but you may do some research. Usually if I have a problem with paint I use clay bar. Not sure if it works for the though

No you're not wrong.. You are not the only one that's said clay bar.. But this looks to be more than just a blemish.. I could be wrong and a clay bar treatment could be what I need

That sure looks like oxidation, or stated in not the so fun way....your clear coat is failing. I assume these cars are not single stage paint, they have a clear coat? Yes you can remove it, but it will likely just come back. The UV protection in your paint is done. You can polish it and lay down a nice sealant, but that is only buying some time.

If you plan on keeping the cars for a few years, I would just get them re cleared.

I can see from some of the photos that your cowling is grey and your wipers arms are faded badly too. Do you have to keep this truck/car outside 24/7 in the blazing sun? If so you have to have a sealant on that paint at all times, never let it wear off.

Sorry to bear such bad news.

Cheers,
GREG

I would take it to a detail shop or body shop. Let someone with experience do it. I like doing most of everything on my truck myself but some things I won't. Let them do a good polish on it.

My thoughts now also... I don't have an understanding of compound or polish... Guess it's gotta go to the detailer...

When you say sealant do you mean like a wax?
