Default OEM 20" FX4 Rims ClearCoat Swirls...

Just got the old Scorpions taken off my OEM's. Getting bigger shoes next week and I decided to clean my rims.

I washed them. Any grease and grime I used Goo-Gone.

I am seeing swirls in my rims clearcoat. Just wondering if I can just use a regular wax or a polish or what I should use to get them back to preswirl state?

Wax will protect but not correct. Using a product for correction ( polish or light compound) will be what you need. Use the least aggressive approach to get the results you need. A wax or sealant after the fact will make cleaning easier and help with any would be brake dust issues.

Wheels are in great shape. Just wanted to rid the swirls. Good advise. I guess I will put some light rubbing compound.

Use a all in one or a swirl remover, by hand or better us a polisher.

Wink

I wouldn't use a rubbing compound. Been there, done that. It will leave very, very fine swirl scratches. Use a polishing compound, or Nevr-Dull is very good and even better, I think.

You could use a compound if you follow it with the right polish but it goes back to what was said above about using the least aggressive you need.

Hit it with some IronX after a wash before you polish and seal. Make sure your aware of the polish you get. Some just hide swirls, most remove them.
