Default New truck detailing help

I just brought home my new f150 and the paint is as smooth as glass. Should I go ahead and put a coat of wax on it or wait for a few months?

i would throw a coat of wax. also get a quality Quick Detailer with carnauba wax to maintain the slickness and gloss between washes.

If it were my truck, I'd do a full detail of the paint. Wash, clay bar, polish, seal and/or wax.

Even if you think it looks/feels good now, it will make an improvement and you know that your "baseline" has been established.

Most dealers are good at making a new vehicle look great, but they definitely don't do a full detail and get it right.

Agreeing with the post above me, you absolutely need to clay and polish before you wax, just to get rid of the rail dust and any minute swirls that the dealer may have caused.

I think Clay for sure before you wax. There is likely contaminants from transport and it will be quick and easy with a new truck. It's all in the prep.

Really the only reason to polish is to remove any marring in the paint. If it looks good to you, don't polish. If you see marring that you want to get rid of, then polish. Start with a less aggressive polish like M205 or Ultimate Polish if you are a consumer grade product user.

Post some pics when you're all done!!!
