Default just did first detail

here was my process
1. wash w/ rain-x wash and wax and then clay barred
2. polish and wax all chrome
3. polishing compound on paint
4. 1 coat of simoniz synthetic liquid wax
5. 1 coat of fire truck shine synthetic liquid wax
6. vacuum and armor all inside
7. shampoo carpets and seats
keep in mind that before i owned this truck it used to pull a race car around the country so its seen its better days, this was also my first time ever detailing a car and i have no previous experience, i dont think i even introduced myself so these are my pics, i am 16 and its my first car and i love it!

Looks good! If you can get your hands on some APC I would go at it with those carpets.

because it gets all the contaminents you cant see out of the clearcoat and paint and makes the paint shinier and more smooth

I was always taught not to use the clay bar. That if used incorrectly it does more damage than good and if it must be utilized, utilize only on small areas. The contaminates you remove from the finish are held in the clay, then run havoc on the other areas of the truck. Pictures are always difficult to get an accurate depiction from but it looks great. Good job. Its the jobs like that you only have to do once and they turn you into a guru if you know what I mean.

Clay is one of the safest things you can do. If you do use a real strong claybar like Meg's Red you will/can do some small things to the paint, but most of that would be removed anyway during the polishing process.
