For years, I have been a fan of NXT and NXT2, both for the shine and ease of use. On another forum, folks were talking up COLLINITE 845 Insulator Wax. Its intended original purpose is to insulate wires so that they don't arc.....its also used for paint. You can get this stuff on your plastic and it returns it to black, you just barely haze the paint, let it dry and it wipes off with one stroke of the towel. For only about $16 for 16 oz. you use so little that one bottle will do your truck 20 times.
What do you think of the shine?:

I love the stuff. On the autogeek forum alot of the high end detailers swear by this stuff. Compared to some of the more expensive waxes, they say this looks better and it's durability is unmatched.

Well, as Davy Jones sang.....I'm a Believer!!! Ease of use is unsurpassed, and its amazing how little you use. I do hope that the durability is as you say, as that would be the icing on the cake. I LOVE this stuff.........

I'm a long time user of their No 915 Marque D'Elegance on my GTO and I love it. I'm picking up some No 845 up for the truck. So what you're saying is, if I get this stuff on my black trimmed fender flares, it won't smear them white and be impossible to remove? I typically tape off all of the matte black prior to waxing. It takes me more time to tape it off than to wax the truck with my porter cable.
Your truck looks great!

I own a boat service shop and use nothing but Collinite products for waxing boats. Steps for the truck when I have time, water, clean, clay, clean, collinite cleaner wax, 845 wax, dry. Looks better than brand new.

I might think that the hard black plastic is different than flat black paint though. This is likely to put a shine on that flat black paint!

I've been using 845 for a couple years. I use it as a sealant on my customer cars and my truck gets a new coat every 2 months. On a pavement only driven vehicle the protection with a wash once a week the 845 will protect for 6 months.
It's great for wheels too.
