I'm not sure how long they last yet. I don't care if they don't last as long though, as long as I'm not cleaning them every other day. I have read some post that say they hold heat and you can get break fade from it. But I haven't seen any of that with mine in fact they stop a lot better than the stock pad I had. here's something to read http://www.akebonobrakes.com/afterma.../benefits.html
brembos from tirerack as good rotors and if you want slotted rotors the Powerslot rotors are Brembos that have been slotted.

I installed ceramics on my 2001 and never had any problems with dust or warping....never did much towing though. I am also having the same dust problems on my 07 4x4 as well.It seems like I need to clean my front rims every three days!!! I don't remember this much mess with the 01...hopefully it is just breaking them in.

Nope, it wont get any better. At least it didn't for me. I changed mine out at 12 or 15K. And the dust was never this bad on my 02 either.

I have been using simple green to clean my tires and wheels for the last year and they make my tires and rims look great! If you have rotor warping issues getting drilled and slotted rotors can stop that and it greatly improves braking. you can get them at www.rockauto.com they are the most affordable around.

The safest cleaner for premium coated wheels, chrome or aluminum is Griots Garage Wheel Cleaner. It works great on wheels and is certified and Recommended by BBS for use on wheels. Another great product is P21S wheel cleaner gel. With the stock pads, it will be impossible to keep excessive dust off of them. However, you can put a sealant on the wheels so that they dust does not become baked onto the surface, causing it to damage, pit, or discolor your wheels.

I would recommend using Poorboys World Wheel Sealant. This easy to apply product provides a shield of protection for your wheels. Cleaning will be much easier too. Also, you should wash your vehicle fully at least every 8-10 days if you plan on the wax/sealant on your paint and wheels to last.

Good luck,

Dylan

I use ZAINO which is a POLYMER that lasts for several months and makes it difficult for brake-dust to adhere to the chrome wheel......

To clean the inside of my wheels I use Eagle One Chrome and Wire Wheel Cleaner.

Just spray it on.
Wait five minutes then wipe it off using an old wash cloth.
The thick brown/orange "baked" on build up comes right off.
Afterwards wash the wheels down real good with a garden hose.

NOTE: Use an old clean wash cloth.
The one I used...you guessed it...is now a real dirty brown/orange.

1) Spray on inside of wheels
2) Let it sit on the wheel for five minutes
3) With the cleaner on the wheel use wash cloth to rub wheel.
4) Repeat 1-3 if needed.
5) Rinse thoroughly!

This product and process works for me with very little time and effort.
I was able to get real good results without removing the wheels.

Works for me. Easy to do.
The inside of my wheels are now are very clean and shiny silver!

"Eagle One chrome and wire wheel cleaner is formulated specifically for chrome wheels. It quickly removes brake dust, grime and even rust $5.99"

Give it a try and post your results.
