Default Cquartz Finest: Corvette Stingray

While I know this is not an F150, it does explain some of the processes for dealing with Cquartz Finest paint coating.

Nice work, Greg. But plucking the nubs off the tires? You probably don't leave the window sticker on a new vehicle so it "looks new" either, huh? lol

Personally I just let the better half parallel park a few times with the new rubber. Tends to scrub those little buggers off.

Thanks! The method of allowing your other half to curb them off often leads to "polishing" of the new rims too, huh?

Cheers,
GREG

Awesome job Greg! That carbon fiber looks phenomenal! What body shampoo do you use as a maintenance wash for cquartz?

On well cured coatings I like to use Citrus Wash to deep clean the coating. In the summer months I like to use 1Z perls as not as much debris will get on the coating. In the spring after a hard grimy winter, I use CarPro Reset on the Cquartz Finest, and then give it a fresh boost of CarPro Reload.

Cheers,
GREG

Very nice work Greg! I love to see white sparkle and attention to the small details.

I have done many new Vettes where the buffer trails are direct from the factory.
I've had clients only allow the dealership to remove the plastic shipping wrapper.
When I received them (with about 25 miles on the ODO) the paint had factory DISO.

I know it makes the client very happy to see the vehicle "Better than showroom new".

Hey Merlin,
This may be a stupid question, but what is DISO?

There are no stupid questions...only stupid answers and I'll try not to do that.

Sometimes DISO is from the factory and sometimes it is from the dealership...
It is when the dealership takes a brand new vehicle direct from the factory and improperly wash it...
Whether they drive it through their "Tunnel O' Swirls" (beater auto-car wash) or poorly hand wash it.
This type of washing puts fine scratches in the paint known in the detailing industry as swirl marks.

Hence the term: Dealer Installed Swirl Option (DISO)

Lol. Duh. That's what we're talking about is dealer installed swirls? I thought that, but the O, I never would've got that! Thank you for the response. And I know exactly what you're talking about. My fiancé is in the process of getting a new Subara, and I've already told the dealer that if they get in a new car that they think she'd love, to please send me a pic of the car "as is" with the shipping wrap on it. I've told him that if they remove that stuff and wash it or "detail" it before they take it out front, we'll look elsewhere. A certified pre-owned that they had on the lot had about 3 sharp edges with not just buffer trails but clear coat burn through for sure. Then I kindly pointed out to him that they may want to check on their "detail shop" who's hacking the paint up and slinging products all over the black trim.

for my weekly washes I like Chemical Guys Citrus wash and gloss. I don't like much of Chemical guys stuff, but that I do like.

Cheers,
GREG
