Default Cleaning plastic "chrome"

The plastic center caps on my wheels are dull and stained with brake dust. I've tried Eagle 1 wheel cleaner with no success. Can anyone recommend a product that will clean them but not remove the chrome?
Thanks

0000 Steel Wool and soapy water. I use this on my wheels and running boards.

I would start with a good paint polish first - similar to what you would use on your clear coat. Obviously popping the caps off and working with them on the bench will be much easier.

+1 on the steel wool and soapy water. it will shine it back up like new. then finish it off with a light spray wax
