Adhesive & Chip protector removal

Adhesive & Chip protector removal
I recently got a new to me '05 Supercrew. It had a metal college emblem on the tailgate, one of the kinds that sticks on with the double sided foam type adhesive, and I can not get the last bit off. Any recommendations?
Also, it has a clear laminate type protective film on the front of the hood. I assume some sort of rock chip protection. However the ends have started curl up and collect dirt, making it that much more unattractive. Is anyone familiar with removing these?
Will provide pictures in the morning to help give a better idea.

Heat gun and a plastic putty knife. WD40 as dt suggested can work well also. Lighter fluid can be effective also. A tar and bug remover can work well also.
ALL techniques will require one ingredient - patience!

Yeah and I was referring to the left over double tape only!

Thanks guys! I will try those on the double sided. As for the laminate deal, a buddy and I figured out that it slowly peels off. Will just be matter of cleaning leftover adhesive on that.

If that is like window tint, you may want to moisten (underneath) as you go with soapy water.

It seemed to be a bit tougher and thicker than window tint. I got it off by just slowly peeling it away. Then removed the adhesive with automotive goo gone. Got the double sided tape off with bug and tar remover. Thanks for the help everyone!
