This forum is a kind and gentle compared to a Mercury Couger site I was on. If you didn't own just the right model you were a second class member, and even if you had a so called classic muscle car Couger there was class warfare there. Well I have matching numbers and you don't "sniff!". Oh ya well my engine was built by, file in the blank, famous engine builder so there. I have a 1968 and you have 1972 na-nee-na-na sticking out his tongue. You have the wrong, tires, rims, color, trim, interior, shifting ****, etc, etc, etc. You used bondo...No I didn't. You didn't, or did, use replacement panels from Year One..oh. You carpeted your trunk instead of restoring it with the crappy original cardboard....well I never.
Here all that matters is here is you have an F150. I like it here because of the give and take, there is a lot of good technical knowledge. What little there is in flaming I see in the threads I am on does not even come close to the pitched, "I am going to fire bomb your shop", battles one see in other automotive forums. Where ever I can I help with my knowledge and I sure am happy to pick the brains of somebody who has information and service tips I don't know. by comparison I was looking in on another F150 forum and they had a pitched battle between an "A" hole retired Ford dealer parts manager and the rest of the thread. This old crow apparently had a set of parts books. The thread was about the "Clock Spring" in the steering wheel. He was being a total jerk about the name. apparently in his part books the clock spring is called something else and by God you where going to call it the right name or else. He refused to give out any parts numbers unless the thread used the right name. You can just image what the state of that thread was. I signed into this forum just to list the parts numbers for the clock spring by year, and where they could be purchased. I pointed out to Mr. A-hole calling this part a clock spring is a generic term for a type part that is used by other car manufacturers and it was a well understood name. I have not been back to that forum. Jon This is Great place!

When people register there should be a optional "Referrer" field that way if I refer someone they can put in my name and I don't know what should happen after that.

Also, maybe a ranking system like there is in a Droid X forum I belong to http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/forum.php I think it's kinda cool to move through the ranks.

I see posts and it is not apparent what year their truck is. Can that information be added on the left under the name? I have been on other forums that did this. Year, model can be listed. Just a thought. Thanks

A lot of people add it to there "Sig" on the bottom or under their Avatar. There is also a place in the User profile. Even making it mandatory that that section be completed when registering would help, although that could be a problem for those that want to join w/o a vehicle.

Your idea has merit, as countless times I've had to ask that info when members ask for help w/o divulging it. Info correct regarding a 87 I-6 will many times not be correct for a 95 V-8. I notice in your "Profile info" you drive a 2011. How do you like it?

The other thing your dealing w/ is you'll notice a lack of response/comment from the Mods to most all suggestions given on this thread, "suggesting" they don't check this thread that often.

We shall see, I'm thinking. I posted this at 9:31 am - Friday 2/18/2011 Let's see how long it takes for them to change my Avatar to "Tinkerbell" again. (Yes, they can do that)
