Default Update to 4.4.2 KitKat

I got an update today for my Samsung Note 2 on Verizon and now half of my menu bar is missing. I was on 4.3 before the update. I can still see the unread push notifications on each of the menus so it's not a huge deal but just thought I'd share.

Sometimes when you uninstall an app the cache and data remain, clear it out and try again.

Wish I could help further but I don't use Samsung phones, Motorola is my preference.

Must be something to do with your update. There is one other thing you can try but I doubt you will want to, reset the entire phone back to original, let it take the update again and then reinstall, unfortunately everything.

Thank you for the input. I can live with it since I can see the push notifications just thought I'd bring it up.

Maybe I jinxed it. It seems the push notifications only work from the time I have the app open to the time I check the app again (and the app is still open). If I have the app closed (over night for instance) then open it after some time (in the morning) I will have no push notifications and all forum sections will be read (gray) even though I can see a few new posts have been made.

I thought I was the only one dealing with this. It also happened to me when I updated to KitKat. I've got a MotoX. I actually sent an email to forumrunner about the issue back in November when I first noticed it. Haven't received a reply since then and haven't seen an update to fix either. Maybe I'll email them again.
