if you actually put in your post that you did research and couldnt find what you wanted, then 99% you will not get a "use search" response and get helpful resposes on here. if you sound like a *****hat needy little kid, you will get a "use search" response and probably trolled.

i have been linking lmgtfy.com lately, teaches people how to use google for the internet challenged.

How about I start with saying "post youre threads in the right section!" lol

As far as the use the search thing, yeah it does get annoying but so does seeing the same topic come up over and over but it happens. Ive actually never had an issue finding anything Ive ever searched for on here, the search works exactly the same way here as it does on any other forum Ive been on. I used it just yesterday as a matter of fact!

I think some of the confusion comes from the fact that there are actually two separate search engines on the site.

The text box top center with the red Search button next to it is completely worthless.

But the regular vBulletin search is still available in the command bar just above and to the right of the red Search button. It (and more specifically the Advanced Search option) are very useful.

Anyone who isn't particularly familiar with vBulletin will probably just use the most obvious search, come to the quick conclusion that search on this forum sucks and just start a new thread. And honestly, I can't blame them too much for that.

Exactly!!!^^^ I understand that some issues are specific, and warrant a new thread. But there are stickies for things like the shudder issue for a reason...because its asked soooo much!!!

I've actually said, "I'm too lazy to search" before, and didn't get any "use search" comments. Because people were impressed with the honesty...granted they then searched...and found what I was looking for...and posted a link to it. But...they didn't say "use the search!!" Haha!

The fact that this got moved to the suggestions and comments section, and now has to be searched for, is pretty ironic to me.
