I personally am glad that we do not have an Anything Goes forum. I do much of my surfing at work. Some of the other forums I frequent with fewer restrictions or Anything Goes forums have been tagged by Websense and are now blocked at work.

Just my opinion.

It didnt work here, thats why we closed those threads. Some members displayed more than a few times that they couldnt handle posting within the rules and we (staff) got tired of it. IMO content like that has no place on a website like this and is one reason this site appealed to me when I first joined. Many other truck sites I visited are like the wild wild west and let anything fly and what happens is that the tech topics (the reason most join a forum like this) takes a backseat to posting naked women and other NSFW material and bickering. Friendly banter in the off topic section is one thing but when we loosen the leash so to say and we get taken advantage of by members constantly pushing the limits or by blatantly breaking the rules we pull back on the reins a little.

Got it. I'm fairly new here. Like I say, I don't really need the NWS threads. If I need to see that kind of content, there are plenty of other places to go.

So what would you like to see?

Personally, I'm trying to get the classifieds rules a little more regulated to cut down on scammers and people posting up items for sale with no picture, no thought, just trying to get money. And also to get the iTrader forum sales reputation system implemented.
In regards to the trade/sell section, I think the post count should be raised and a membership length requirement be implemented. It is so frustrating to see people just come on here and post ridiculous replies to threads they clearly haven't read or know anything about just so they can get 25 posts and then immediately put something up for sale or ask about. Just last week a guy did this and then posted about selling some running boards in the off-roading section WTF? This is one thing that I feel needs to be changed and I'm sure anyone else who really uses/values this forum agrees.

I'm on no less than 5 forums regularly and many more , this is one of the most censored forums by far. Like walking on glass around here, people easily offended, threads locked, multiple warnings for stupid *****, u name it. I still enjoy it here, however it has the potential to be a way better place. It's not my "home" forum, if u will.

There are some good characters on here, it's unfortunate I may never see some of their best material due to threads being overly censored.

Exactly, this is NOT a public forum. It is a private forum and the people who own it, and their designated moderators are free to operate it the way THEY want it.

Wtf is everyone bitching about here?? This IS one of the better forums Im on and Ive been a member of over 30 forums everything from RC cars to guns, to Mustangs. I dont see the since in complaining about alot of the threads being closed, is it really that bad of a thing to have a FAMILY oriented forum and not allow the BS? If thats what you really want hop over to Pirate4x4 or Corral.net and see how quick you realize this is one of the better forums.

As for the classifieds, I think that section should be hidden completely unless the member has 100+ legit posts and minumin 90 days OR become a supporting member of the site. Also a good idea would be bring on a new mod or 2 that only police the classified sections, that way it can be closer watched and take some of the BS away from the other mods to make their job easier.

Ive been a mod/admin on several site and its not as easy as people think. Im building a new truck site/forum right now and theres a hell of alot more to it then just a few clicks and done. Not to mention once a site/forum is up and running the constant maintenance that must be done daily/weekly/monthly from the entire admin/mod staff just to keep eveything running so we all have a place to post.

One other section that would be cool is a "Affiliate/partner site section". That would be similar to a vendor section but for "SOME" sites to post their site/forum for the interest of expanding memberships for all sites. But thats a completely different subject.
