Your in my neck o' th woods! Take PCH south, to Laguna Hwy, go inland to El Toro Rd. Hang a right. Just keep going till you get tired of the scenery (doubt it). About 20 miles in, there's a popular biker restaurant/ bar (??????'s Corner) & a Lake turnoff about 2 miles farther. Both on your right side. Minimal traffic, even on Sunday. Enjoy! Very popular for Biker rally's. We had between 400-500 bikes at the Charity Diabetes fund raiser. (3 thumbs up!)
My association is sponsoring the "Long Beach Police Dept. 9.9.9 Benifit Ride for Families of Fallen Officers" on the Aug.28th. "The mother of all charity rides"! Police escort for the entire ride (including 2 helicopters) which translates into one continuous stream of 500+ motorcycles & no stop lights required to be observed (all intersections are shut down.
This draws quite a crowd itself, threw the 7-8 cities we pass through! Includes a Tee shirt, Commemorative pin, Live band, open buffet, (no open bar, but drinks are reasonable) crap loads of prizes, a raffle for a 2011 H/D Super Glide &...............The very unique feeling you get when a cop "waives you through a red light at 50 MPH! "Priceless"!!!!! $30/ rider, $10/ passenger. Hit me up if you have any questions! In fact, here's the Association link also (Look under "Events"): http://www.lbpmpa.com/
It's a very good cause. We just lost another So. Cal Motor Patrol Officer last week that had a wife & two young kids. Another in serious condition & another still in critical condition. It was a bad week!
Sorry for pimpin the Events, but this stuff's my passion, when I'm not ranting on the Forum.

After 53 years, I don't get really excited that easily. I've seen it, been there, done that, more than I care to share......But this event ride "Kicks ***"! When all those bikes fire & take off, it reminds me of the feeling I used to get waiting for the tree to turn green, when I used to 1/4 mile! Probably not as exciting as jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, but it's a major kick! Personally, I place that behavior under a different column!
Did I mention no red lights! No matter, worth mentioning twice! One big ***, long, shiny, noisy parade, slightly above the posted speed limits & "your" in it! Probably 20+ minutes to go by if you were standing there watching. I know it takes almost that long for the last bikes to start after in begins. A lot of fun, & for a good cause! Almost forgot the Police Pursuit Mustang that runs interference, all lit up at the lead! Safety First!
