At the end of the day yeah it's revenue for the site. Doesn't matter how much they spent on the GM ads....Not gonna do it.

I saw the Post yesterday but don't see it today.

For those that didn't see it... It was not an 'Ad' at the top of a screen. It Looked like a standard thread post buy a user named "GMC Trucks" or something like that. Clicking on it, as you would a normal post, took you to a full Post layout with a bunch of pictures and information on the new Chevy trucks.

I figured it was either a BOT or an standard revenue generating ad... was just a bit funny seeing it here.

Yes, someone who gets it. We are not talking about the usual banner ads at the top or sides. If you click my hyperlink in my previous post it will still take you to the bot post here but I don't see the original anymore.

Exactly. Stealth advertisements is what they are.

The adspace is all handled by the advertising team. If this is annoying you or is causing you problems using the site, take a screenshot of the ad and then copy the link in the properties menu (right clicking it). I'll see what I can do about it.

I don't see the ad type in question.

I don't think they were annoying they just seemed like a new way of doing them. On a side note they are very infrequent I think I seen one more and this was for a Ford truck. At first glance it looked some sort of sales bot until you see the profile of the poster.

I personally don't care about sites using ads for revenue as long they aren't intrusive and automatically pop up and start video or sound for example.

Just an FYI so you can see what they look like:
Just found a new one for genuine ford parts. It appears to be gone again so I'm not sure if the link will work but here it is:

It was in the Detailing and Cleaning sub-forum btw.
