Problem is, many people don't, they rely on Auto Lamps not realizing the inadequacy.

That's why I don't trust a computer to do something that I'm supposed to do.

No inadequacy on mine. They're on when I want them on, hell they're even on when it's cloudy. Even sunny if the sun is low enough. But like what was said, I wouldn't modify anything, I'd just turn them on manually as needed. To each their own though

.
Then have them checked out by Ford. That's not new technology and mine work perfectly. I have no problems with them in the new F150 or any other vehicle I've owned since 2003 that had the technology. Then again I used to know people who removed their seat belts because they though they were dangerous and they would get trapped in a burning vehicle in an accident.

That is an option but I paid good money for a vehicle with Auto lights that didn't function to my satisfaction so I fixed them.
Same with my truck...the sensor works, but i swear it seems like it takes too long for the auto lights to turn on when it's fairly dark allready. Can it be calibrated to become more sensitive to turn on a little sooner?

Not that I'm aware of. Mine are now on all the time unless I turn them off.

You could put some window tint or opaque paint on it, have to try different shades to find which one works best.

Canada doesn't like people thinking for themselves.
