Much easier to clean? Because floor liners are hard to come by and using a vacuum is significantly more difficult?

You end up having to pay 100-300 dollars for liners that just end up covering the entire carpet, so what is the point of carpet? The carpet is so thin, I am not sure it really improves insulation.

Liners are probably less work. You can just take them out and hose them off. It just ends up being personal preference in the long run.

No, you dont "have to buy $100-$300 liners", thats just an option for floor mats. There are much cheaper mats/liners out there.

I forgot about regular cabs. However, I haven't seen many liners that are less than 100 dollars. Quite a few floor mats for 10-20 dollars but they will provide minimal protection, especially with rain, salt, mud, or spills from children, lol.

I'd like vinyl just for the sole reason that I have black carpet and my dog's orange/red fur is sometimes hard to vacuum out.

My '92 XLT had vinyl floors and the fake leather bench seat. And while I love my carpet and chairs in my '13, I do miss the vinyl a little. I sealed it up so I could just take a hose to the inside and clean it out after a day of getting all muddy and dirty.

I have vinyl in my 97 XLT and love it. My wife was sitting in the back last week and complained of the floor being warm from the exhaust though. She complains about everything, it is a work truck with 200,000 on the clock and she wants it to drive like a loaded 2016. If I could trade her in for one she'd be gone.
