Default Will a 04-08 plastic bedliner fit a 2014

Hi all, I'm a newbie

but being in Calgary AB, there have been nothing but tons of surplus on Kijiji and new old stock...

so someone is selling a plastic liner for the last gen F150 and I was wondering if it would fit the bed of my 2014 XL short box (theirs is short box as well)

this is the factory plastic liner

so after installing the box liner itself, yup its a fit

Problem is a couple things... my new 2014 doesn't have a threaded nut in the hole inbetween the bed extender hole in the back, but that's not a problem

the other is that the tailgate liner won't seem to match flush to my tailgate... the lip seems a bit big... but the holes otherwise match (but I can't install it)

any tips or tricks? Or should I just bedline the tailgate?

I don't have one right now... its the top part of the tailgate liner.... On his 2006, the tailgate seems to fit flush, but in mine the tailgate protector (the part on the top) hits this lip that is on the top part of the tailgate liner.

it sounds like the lip is just too large, correct? if that's the case the only thing I can suggest is literally trim the plastic to fit better. or as you said, you could use a spray bedliner for the tailgate, which frankly would be the best option for the whole bed

yah that's what I'm thinking... may need a saw saw to do that

Or perhaps I can try to take the tailgate cap off first, and then see if it will go over top?

MIGHT "work", but it'd probably stretch it and create an unsightly bulge. the plastic rail caps are meant to fit the bedrails pretty exactly. I'd personally find another solution
