Why is it that everyone is dumping the manual gear boxes? I think I'm going to buy a new truck next year, but I can't get a manual in a Ford. It looks like I may be buying a Toyota. I really want a manual, and if I'm spending the money on a new truck, I'm going to get what I want. I own 4 Fords right now (only 1 truck) and I hate the idea of buying something else.

Anyone else have this dilemma?

manuals dont sell anymore. and these modern automatics get better fuel mileage

Been that way for years, they quit putting manual trans in the f150 V8 back in 03' unless you wanted a V6, and they stopped making v6 w/manual in 08'.
BTW, you cannot get a manual in the Tundra either.

I remember when they started doing away with the manuals, but to be honest, I figured it was just a passing phase. But you guys are right. They don't sell anymore. People are getting lazy and leading lives that aren't conducive to rowing through the gears. It's sad, really. My wife (we've only been married a year) has two grown boys. 19 and 21. They share an apt together. All they want to do is sit around and play video games after work. They have easy, part-time jobs, soft hands, and terrible attitudes. They don't even have drivers' licenses. No interest whatsoever. I bet they don't even know what a standard is lol!
