well i truly like my f150 but this article fails to talk about how much it cost in parts for a ford motor vs. chevy back in the day.... ford has alwasy been higher. One thing I will say though is that I had a big block 396, punched out to 28 over making it a 402... 12.5:1 compression, used oem L88427 solid lift cam and had a factory high rise intake. everything in this motor was oem except for the moroso windage tray.... needless to say it was a screamer.... cost of this big block 500 bucks and it had 500 miles on it...cost to build it back in 1981 was 1500 bucks..

wonder why the the webpage didnt throw in a 440 or a 426 in this comparison..
