EcoBoost Torture Test
I'd imagine this gets asked here all the time. Why choose the F150?
I own a commercial appliance repair business. I am currently shopping for a truck to turn into a service vehicle. I have looked at the Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra, and just this weekend the F150. I have eliminated the Ram and Chevy. Tundra and F150 are priced around the same but Ford is offering an aggressive rebate program that drops the price substantially. In addition to that I know American car companies are more likely to negotiate price than Japanese companies. I am fairly certain that I can save a truckload of cash buying the F150. But beyond that, why should I choose that over the Toyota? Please don't just say 'best selling truck for 36 years straight".
I want to know how these trucks work in the long haul. I plan to put miles on them and I want to know how long I can expect it to run without major repairs being made.

Nice Truck!
Finally we get to see your beast in your avatar Com!
Gheeze....Talking bout shake, rattle and roll, driving over them bumps, those trucks were all over the place. And the back end look like it was dancing. Some look like they was going to jump off track. I guess it is kinda scary to know and see if your driving that speed over a bunch of pot holes or raggedy streets, your liable to loose control. Yikes

Hi Tally...
I am not a Toyota hater, owned several during the '80's, their heyday IMO. But a recent drive in a Tundra, and sitting in a Tacoma still, were enough to convince me they were not an option per moi. My 6'1" 250 pound frame did NOT like the ergo side of the equation... they are made for smaller people. 'Nuff said.

I bought a Ford cause bottom line I'm a Ford guy. Way to many friends owned Chevys that had burning oil issues and timing/cam issues. The dodges have ****y interior, I like the exterior but bottom line I love the look inside and out on the Fords. I have also owned 2 03 F150s and never had a issue what so ever with them. I also owned 2 2.3L Fox Mustangs with zero issue even with 150k+ miles. My 07 2.3L Range with 135K+ miles never gave me any issues it so it was a no brainer.
Just this year I have had 5 friends get 13 150s. 2 came from 6.0L PSD(170K+ miles), 1 from a 6.4L PSD(75K miles) and the other 2 came from Chevy 1500sone was a 08 the other 10(both had timing issues, one had the same issue twice)
Then again I also have another friend that traded in a Tundra to get a 12 FX4, regretted it ever since. Has had his windshield leak twice and has a intermitting issue with his 5.0L cutting out and dying on him. Two dealers havnt been able to figure it out b

I like the older Tacomas. They were pretty solid and still retain their value a lot. Nissan's older Frontiers were the same. The new models are just too round and bubbly.
