I'd say the SLT is more on par with the Lariat. Years back GMC was SL, SLE, then SLT top of the line, then they added Denali, like Ford top of the line was Lariat, then they added KR/Platinum and then Limited. Ford just did this before GMC. Until about 2 years ago you could only get cooled seats in a GMC with the Denali, but they've leveled that out and you can get those on an SLT now. Ford just made some of those options available to the Lariat a few years before and made them standard on the KR/Platinum/Limited.
So in both - you can get almost any option you want as an add on to the Lariat or SLT , if you want every bell and whistle preconfigured you get Denali with GMC and King Ranch/Platinum/Limited with Ford. Ford just gives you 3 preconfigured finished choices.

It really comes down to getting a good deal, especially if you buy one in one of those "truck month" event/sales. Great deals are to had if Big 3 get into a discount fight for sales bragging rights.
As for pricing difference, it does exist but utimately, it's mostly a reflection on a dealer's willingness to sell. Who really buys trucks based on MSRP? You shop based on final pricing and if you cross brand shop, there's never parity in pricing between brands of trucks with similar features. If you really want to see true value, look at the depreciation value of the various brands of trucks.

I recently bought a slightly used 2015, while I liked the outside look of the Chevy/GMC better, the interior of the ford and driving sold me. Took me almost a year before I finally made a decision.
Ford felt like I was driving a truck while the chevy/gm felt more like a big boat car from the 70's.
More so, the super crew cab had more room for the kids and dogs than the crew from GMC. I'm just shy of 6' and had plenty of room in the back of the Ford, while my knees almost touched the back of the driver's seat in the Chevy.

the denali seems closer to the f150 limited. the sierra slt's i'm looking at include the premium-plus package which is almost everything the denali has (no triple-seal doors, noise cancellation, magnetic ride control) but without the denali logo splashed everywhere & without the branding markup
the lack of bailouts does not compel me to cough up an extra $7-8k, although it is admirable that ford was able to stand on its on
i'm in the southeast, just outside raleigh & i've searched dealers in SC, VA, & GA. what dealer are you seeing $5-7k lower prices at ?
toyotas have better resale than ford, but i'm not looking to resale, i'm looking for a 12-15yr vehicle
all auto manufacturers use foreign labor. assembling foreign parts in america doesn't make a true american vehicle

i like the f150 better than the sierra & as petty as it sounds after driving toyota & lexus for 6 years i really don't want to start pulling out my key fob to unlock doors & crank vehicles. just trying to understand the pricing difference

so after digging in a bit it looks like i can get the lariat with all the options i want for $1400 less than the platinum. the king ranch with my options was more than the platinum
as a side note to this discussion, the f150's 6.5' bed costs $300 more than the 5.5'
the sierra's 6.5 bed cost $4500 more than the 5.5' bed

i created this thread trying to find out what i was getting extra in the f150 to account for the additional cost. i took some time yesterday to document all the relevant features of each truck & then removed all the items that were the same on each. below are the differences i found and the msrp prices. the best retail prices i've found for each truck have been around $11k off for the ford & around $12k off the gmc

Hmmm, to be fair, Ford`s hands are not completely clean here. The bailout was a loan that the other automakers got & paid back. Ford still owes on their loan:
