Why do you buy an F150?

Had a ranger, Loved it, got a car for long drives to work, decided we needed a truck, looked at chevy and ford and dodge. The used dodge was worn out. The used Chevy had manual everything(WTF) locks and windows with a v6.(WTF, NO). Then I got to the f150, it was tan color with dirty interior power everything, after market radio but was supercab with bench rear. (Me and the wife already knew we wanted a baby, so 2 door or jump seat was not going to happen).
When I drove the f150 besides having no teloscoping steering wheel it felt great. Plus some other things in our life has happened so getting one financed was harder but we got it. It has the 4.6l which is fine with me has power to hit the freeway and I dont need it for anything super huge like a trailer or anything, but Bikes, furniture, trees, trash and other truck stuff it what i needed plus its getting 19mpg. The ranger with the 4.0 was only gettign 15-16.
Really, I knew I wanted a f150 going in but decided to test out the other two for around the same price range. I never go to a car dealer and not know what car I am there for.

Just like IntegraRC, I had a Ridgeline that had served well and had a lot of miles. Didn't like the look of the new Honda and needed a little more towing power (I pushed the Ridgeline hard a few times with big loads and headwinds). This is my first full size truck since I bought a brand new 1978 GMC half-ton 4x4 to get me through a very harsh winter.
Ford seemed to be the best choice, and I am a very happy camper so far.....

We are planning to start camping again now that my youngest is out of scouting (been sleeping in a tent for ten years) and am getting ready to build a deck on my home, so the truck will be handy for rental tools and hauling materials.
That's the rationalization, anyway. The fact is that I WANTED an F150. I LIKE how it feels to sit above traffic. I like not having to think about borrowing or renting a truck when I need one.

My wife and I bought a small trailer (3,000 lbs dry) which we could tow with our Cherokee. We plan to trade up to a bigger trailer in a few years so I didn't want to have to buy truck & trailer at the same time. And I wanted a truck with the best towing capacity so we bought a 2014 EB XLT. And I wanted it now....

My first ford was an 02 ranger edge reg cab 4x4 when I was single. Traded that for a 04 Nissan frontier ext cab when I got married. After son was born, we went to Marietta GA and my wife rode down there (3.5 hours) on the little fold down jump seat. On the way back home she made me pull in and get a full size. Got a used 03 f150 2wd with the 4.2L. Drive that think for almost 8 years until wife totaled her car and she took it over. I had a 95 ram 2wd that I picked up cheap until last October when I found my beauty. I've been wanting to get back behind the wheel of a Ford. Found this beauty waiting on me and had to jump on it. 07 f150 4x4 with the 4.6L.
Although my son, who is 11 now, has already laid claim to it when he turns 16. Which is fine with me because I'll be ready for either a new f150 or a Bronco when they come out.

After my youngest moved out on his own I no longer needed a people hauler and was real tired of having to pull around a utility trailer behind the Explorer, pita trying to maneuver in parking lots and such therefor I bought my truck because I needed something that could accomplish this,...
And this,...
And this,...
Without having to pull that trailer, oh and it's also a pita loading and unloading a half cord of firewood from the back of the Explorer.
Last but certainly not least, I could never make my old Explorer look this good, LOL
Oh and I can also now load this up and roll,...
The possibilities are endless with a p/u truck.
