I bought a 2011 F150 3.5 Ecoboost, honestly because my 2002 Nissan Xterra 4WD was on it's last leg. So we went to the dealership and test drove the F150 (which I own), a Tacoma, and a chevy z71 truck. Narrowed it down to the Tacoma and the F150... the Tacoma was nice and the f150 was nice as well... but I grew up with Fords and always wanted my own F150. It was 4wd (main factor) and was a truck! All the bells and whistles included, was just honestly a plus.
Now engine wise, I had no idea what I was getting into (3.5 Ecoboost), except for the fact that my mom's escape had an ecoboost and it hauled some serious butt. After I bought the truck I did research and glad I bought that truck because it has been good since!

Works for me too. Both my brothers are Ford retirees.

My old tow vehicle, a 2001 Explorer, was getting on in years and mileage. We take some pretty long trips to/through areas with few people and we were starting to worry about breakdowns in the least convenient locations. We also plan on buyin a somewhat larger travel trailer in a few years. With this in mind we went with an F-150. Since I only need one pickup truck it also replaced my 2001 B3000 which went to one of my kids and her husband.

Spent my entire working life driving used fix-em-ups. Last one was a '94 Nissan KC 4 banger with 260K miles that I gave to my nephew. Bought my '13 FX4 5.0 new as a retirement gift to myself. As a 6'5'' tall grumpy cuss I appreciate the space, leg room and overall comfort of the Ford.

Because I'm from Oklahoma and I live in Texas. Pickups are just what we drive.

On the other hand, driving an F150 because of the deal I got. Previous 3 trucks were all GMC - used to get the GM discount, and to be honest they were all very solid - never a real problem with any of them. Decided I'd look at Ford (Ford is all my brother will drive) but also when I was ready to buy in late 2015 - I found a new '14 Lariat with all the options I had on my list still on the lot that I got a dang good deal on that GM nor Ford on a '15 could touch. I don't have any regrets.

LOL, pretty close to my story. Hitting retirement this year (forced early), tired of used and working on them myself (and hard to do it now anyways), got a 2016 as a "gift" to myself. I also figured since it was a gift and maybe the last one I'll ever buy, I went loaded up Lariat. Might as well enjoy it while I can I figured.

I'm not over 6', but I'm busted up pretty good and find it easiest to get in and out of the f150 as opposed to something lower and smaller.

Roger the busted parts. Been driving the puddle jumpers so long my 36" legs are forever bowed I fear. I can now tell folks with a wink that I was a bull rider back in the day.

Default buy a f-150

I'm looking at buying a F-150 Lariat 2010 with 126000 miles. I was curious if I should be leery of anything. the truck its self is in great shape. good tires. should I be worried about any engine or tranny problems? any advice is welcome and greatly appreciated!!!

Ha ha, I am probably the second-to-last person who needs a truck, but I just love them. Formerly drove a flawless Ridgeline for 8 years, but as I'm getting older I seem to be turning into more of a hazard on wheels. I upgraded to the gorgeous King Ranch with everything because I wanted the safety features (and the other goodies that make this truly a luxury vehicle).
