I have noticed that on ford f150s you hear more engine noise then exhaust when u get on it? The only other trucks I have drove have been Chevys and I don't really hear much engine noise on them no idea on dodge tho. No real reason I'm asking I was just wondering what's different about them versus other trucks?

Air intake design maybe. Oddly though.. my 04 and 05 Sierras with 6 liters make just as much intake noise as my Fords with 6.2's... which i enjoy btw. Subjective maybe lol.

Chevy air intake is on the passenger side, Ford is on the driver side.

I find my F-150 has less engine noise than GM trucks.

My 5.0 makes about the same amount of idle noise as the 5.7 Hemi in a Ram that I walked by the other day. Both definitely in the acceptable range.
Now if you want to hear unacceptable, listen to a late 90's 4.0 Ranger! Lol
