I agree to a point!

My sticker was $49,715 Im z plan eligible so OTD I paid $39,000. I looked at a 2013 with alot less frills than my 2015 for $33,000 with 31,000 miles . So for $6000 more I got 2 yrs newer truck- newer body style with everything I wanted 0 miles and 3yr warranty . I wanted the aluminum body and didnt want to buy someone elses problems. I usually keep my vehicle about 8 yrs. I also put $6,000 down to make up my difference between the 2.

The sticker on yours was $49k, and you paid $39k. You have to look at that 2013 the same way, the sticker was $33k but you could have gotten it for a lot less with some negotiation. A few years ago I negotiated an Eddie Bauer Explorer for my parents, I ended up getting them down $8,000 lower than the listed price.

Does it really matter if you Lease, Buy, Rent, or Borrow your F150?

If you feel you got a Good Deal and are happy with your F150 payment does any of this really matter.
The F150 you own is a Truck. No one Buy's a Truck for Gas Mileage.
Some use their Trucks as Trucks. Some use their Truck's as Cars.
The Truck I own is my only monthly payment. Cabin payed off in 1969, Army money. House paid off in 1971. Retired 11 yrs. Still masking people mad?
I agree there are limits on how much I or anyone else wants to spend on a New or Previously Owned F150. There are no right or wrong answers? Individuals purchase what they want & can afford.
I'm happy for all of them.

That being said, it seems like the prices on these trucks are jumping higher than the rate of inflation. Compare a 5.0 Mustang to a 5.0 F150, do you really think the F150 costs 10K more to manufacture?

Of course they are, and here is why.

My new 2010 "loaded" Lariat Scab was $43.165 sticker.

My new 2016 Platinum Screw was $61,885.

I posted this before, I was amazed at equipment that the '16 had compared to the '10.

Simply no comparison.

BLIS, LED headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, 360 camera, Sync 3, Active Park Assist, PRO Trailer Backup, Collision Warning/Assist, 3.5 Ecoboost, aluminum body, and on , and on, and on.

Adjust my 2010 sticker for inflation, and then add the cost of the high tech driver assists, and you will see why prices have gone up.

But over 500,000 buyers a year like what they are getting for their money, they are voting with their wallet.

The Mustang has some of the same technology for less. It's more than just the technology.

Look at the rising price of a regular cab over the years. with a crew, you expect a higher price, but a regular cab price is just insane these days.

Well, no offense, but the Mustang is a small, 2 passenger, car. I'm surprised they price at $44,000. And "some of the same technology" is not really the same as "all the same technology", is it? Does the Mustang come with 4x4 and a 5 passenger cab?
