I posted this in the 2015+ forum. Note what it says about the most effective makeup of the additives.
This is some info I found written by a Fuels Engineer from Marathon Oil.
I have been using that Techron product for years, whenever going on a road trip. Costco usually has it on sale, but I can never prove that it is doing any good, or if just running the Top Tier gas from Costco is keeping everything clean.

In my neck of the cactus many different brands sold by many different stations are rated top tier and sell for the same price as tier 2 or 3 fuel so it might pay to do a little research. gas buddy dot com is one source.

This has been discussed alot. Google search this topic for in depth answers.
Lucas isn't an additive, it's a cylinder lube. Not the same category.
As far as fuel additives, the ones with poly ether anime are not snake oil, theyve been proven to clean carbon deposits. There are many that dont have PEA and those ones are a waste of money. The ones I know of that DO contain PEA are Techron and Redline SI-1.
Also, you have to have a port injection engine to even benefit from this. So if you have an ecoboost (DI), don't bother.

In my area, the Shell stations add Techron to all 3 grades of their fuel. I use 87, and Shell. I've yet to ever have an injector problem relating to clogged or dirty.
