What was your previous ride?
I was posting about my new truck on a dirtbike forum I'm a member of and there were quite a few comments about making the switch from toyota to a ford which made me curious about who was switching to what.
Like previously stated I traded a toyota tundra for my f150 after growing up in a family where everyone had either a suburban or silverado for generations. my dad swore off gm after a bad experience with his last silverado and bought a tundra in 01. he gave them one more shot in 03 buying mom a gmc envoy. after 3 years he'd had enough and sent mom off to the toyota dealer to find a new car. She ended up with a lexus. went through two tundras and mom just bought another lexus. since the gm bailouts the extended family that has always driven chevy has been buying fords or toyotas.
What did you make the switch from?

Went from a Loaded 2003 Expedition Eddie Bauer and a 2006 Audi A4 (my first car) to my '12 FX2 and soon from that to a '13 FX4.
The expedition was originally my dads car, but after they moved to Canada, I kept it for another year and a half and drove both the Audi and the Expy. When I bought the FX2 no longer needed the expy so we sold both the Audi and the expedition.

I bought a Dodge Dakota at a farm auction. 2wd extended cab with over 100,000 miles. It had the 3.9l so it was slow but that truck only let me down once. The brake line rusted through. It never really stopped running but, like all the other Dodges I've owned, it had rust issues. On this particular truck it was all underneath so the body still looked good. At almost 200k I traded it in and got what I paid for it at auction years earlier. I like the looks of Dodges and still own a Durango with almost 150k on it and the only mechanical issue is a bolt on the exhaust manifold broke and I had to put a new EGR valve on it. It did start rusting just as the paint warranty ended but no rust through until after that warranty expired. If it weren't for the rust issues I would have looked at a Ram.
