Default Totally Dead.

Totally Dead. 12v to the starter solenoid. 12v to the starter "That's It". Here's the short of it, if possible. I have a 94 ford f150xl with a Winsor 351 v8. High mileage. Still a good truck to keep but really testing the limits of freak out. My problem at present is my Starting system, I have good battery 12.4v.new starter solenoid. and new starter. Iv been having troubles with the positive post set up.wireing from the starter and to the starter solenoid. I rewired the cable from the starter to the battery. And put in new positive wire to the starter solenoid. Put everything together a no juice at all. These are the things I now for sure as of today. Got power to starter, got power to starter soilnod. and that's it. I checked all fuses with a meter. Good. did not check relays yet. cleaned the ground wires that I now of. Its that time of year here in the Midwest and im working on it in the front yard. Gota Love It. Any one who can help a mid rookie mechanic would be greatly appreciated." And How "

Have you jumped the solenoid? If it starts jumping the solenoid, that its a relay or your ignition.

What about the switch that keeps it from cranking in gear? That could be bad and causing issues.

You don't happen to be using a new key are you? Could be an issue with it or your PATS system....

Honestly, It could be many things, but if it cranked when you jumped the solenoid, then you are not getting the "crank" message to the starter when you turn the key. In a 94, it is most likely the starter relay. The part is under 20 bucks at your parts store, so change it out and eliminate that issue.

To All Thank You, Pack- Is the switch a neutral safety switch. if yes, They told me that I would still get power to my dash and interior lights. but all lights are dead. If no, then I need to double check for a switch that keeps it in gear. Star- The pats system is popping up at me a little. I'm not sure! I don't have one that I have not physically touched or seen. Ill check to day. Jjayf This is the 2nd new starter solenoid iv put in. Problem week and half old. something has my hold electrical system locked up. Main brain ? relay? linkable fuses. cheeked all I could find. Distibuter molual ?
