I really thought about getting one. Liked the design and function of that flow through bed, but it is an old design. The interior was dated and fit and finish just weren't the same. Then there's that very thirsty V8 and ancient tranny. Too bad, cause I did like it.
No I don't believe a GMC version was ever made. 2013 is the last year for them so that's why I was going to get another one. I so love that truck. But after renting and driving an F150 for a week, Ford stole my heart. Oooweee did I fall in love quick. I absolutely adore F150.

I grew up in a GM car family. (Grandad was part owner in a chevy dealership) Grew up with REAL trucks International pick-ups and scouts. When IH dropped out of the light truck market, I tried 2 GM's and then I bought a 83 Ford Ranger V-6 4wd. I've owned 5 rangers, 3 F-150s, and 3 F-250s (still own a 83 6.9 diesel 4 spd 4wd and a 92 7.3 diesel auto 4wd). I also wouldn't buy a GM because of the way the government took procession away from the stockholders and gave it to the unions. Dodge (Ram) is now foreign owned and the profits go overseas. Same reason I won't buy a Toyota or Nissian. Plus I've had excellent service with my Fords and have been known to overload them a lot. I now as of 8-27-13 am the proud owner of a 2011 F-150 XL supercrew 4WD 3.55 ratio.

Wanted a small pickup at the time and I always liked the look of the Ranger so picked up one up brand new in 07 and put 170,000 trouble free miles on it. It was one of the most reliable trucks I drove to date and I'm hoping I get the same out of my 2013 5.0L fx4 when it gets here. Counting the days!

Another thing that sold me on the Fords was when my brother got an '05 FX4 Supercab with 120,000 miles on it. He put 40k hard driven, malnourished miles on it. That truck rode, drove and felt nicer than the 09 Silverado with 15k I was driving at the time. The Chevy had rattles everywhere, it was constantly in the shop and felt less refined than the FX4. The Ford had a nicer steering feel and a much nicer interior. The FX4 came with every Ford service record that was ever done on it and it had only TSB's and recalls done, absolutely no warranty work.

That FX4 ended up being my truck for a while after my Chev had the fire. I drove it for about 10k miles before the truck started having transmission issues (probably from the lack of maintenance in the time he was driving it) and decided it was in my best interest to get a new truck. The Ecoboost FX4 I have now is awesome, but that 05 was the truck that sold me on Fords and I actually miss it's awesome reliability.

I've been a Chevy guy most of my life. There's an '03 Z06 in the garage next to it. I was given a 2011 XLT For work, and I have been so impressed I started looking for a 150 this spring. I found a '12 left over with almost 10k in discounts and bit the bullet. No regrets.

This is my first Ford. I've driven several of them in the past and came close to buying one back in 96, but the ergonomics and interiors just never felt quite right. My Brother had a early 80's 5.0 mustang that I found fun to drive, and I nearly went out and bought one.

I wanted to get back into a truck and my lease on the Subaru was up. I looked at all of them, but for the last few years I kept seeing Fords of all models and saying DAMN! Thats a good looking vehicle. I really liked the styling of the trucks, and on paper they kicked the butt of the other trucks in what I was looking for.

Still with all that I was undecided. It was my 16yr old Daughter who said, HEY! Let's go look at the truck brah! We are driving right by the lot, let's go! In we went.

My intial imprression was that the vehicle felt right, and reminded me of my X-terra. I never buy a vehicle on the first visit, so I slept on it. Went online, found the one I wanted on the lot, and called the sales Mgr. directly. Drove it home the next day.

My Sister has/had an Escalade Surburban. That is one damn nice vehicle! My Brother who was driving an F-250 screw at that time, loved it as well!
Fit and finish was as good as anything I had been in.

Cadilliac makes some nice iron. I would drive most of them.
