Default can't figure out whats wrong

hello,

I have a 2001 Ford f-150 Harley Davidson 4dr truck. so a couple of months ago my head gasket decided to give on me my original motor was in and at 238,000 miles. i recently got a motor swap from another f-150 with 115k miles on it.

the new swap had all of the following done.

:spark plugs and wires
oil pan gasket
intake gasket
water pump
exhaust gasket
thermostat
idler pulleys
coil boots
hoses/belt an replacement starter.

the first day i got it out the shop when i was trying to accelerate to pull off it was almost like the pedal would gradually go down and then the truck would jump up as if it was trying to roll forward while my foot was on the brake and i noticed shifting in and out my trans started to get stiff. after about 15 mins worth of riding everything seemed fine till i noticed my car was revving up and i wasn't doing it myself.

24hrs go by the check engine comes on so i takes the truck back the shop wanna claim it was just an o2 sensor issue but i had the guy drive the truck and h noticed something wasn't right so he said he'll clean the throttle body out gain and see if that works, wipe the code and called me the next day. i pulled off the trans shifting was better and the pedal issue was different but as i drove down two blocks the truck was stuck in 45 and wouldn't shift and when it did the same push boosted the car. at this point i considered this a trans issue, but my trans was fine before this motor swap. got the truck back late friday only drove in once and the check engines light is on again the starter they put on the car is garbage it barely starts the car and when it dones the rpms go to about 1500-2 then after a min or 2 drop under 1 the car sounds rapidlly decrease as if the car is gonging to shut off then outta nowhere it spikes and accelerates on its own as if you foot is on the pedal and drops again.

sadly i have to take the truck back but they're but they wanna blame all this on the o2 sensor when the car is having these other problems.

at this point i don't know what the problem is and the owner of the shop is not planning on fixing his wrongs correctly any one know what could be the problem?

Could be an intermittent vacuum leak like maybe the replaced intake gasket.
Or something goofy going on with the throttle body like the butterfly return spring or throttle cable is sticking.

By the way what were those CEL codes?

Could be a bad TPS. I'm pretty sure they can make the transmission shift funny also.

AHH, thanks for the CEL 1123 code.
It indicates: Throttle Position Sensor In Range But Higher Than Expected

Some TPS's need to be adjusted when replaced dependent on the vehicle and/or year. Don't know about the one on your truck.
It could be bad, needs adjustment, connector issue or installed wrong either of which can affect transmission shift patterns.
Far as accelerating on its own i'm not sure if a flaky TPS voltage signal to the PCM can cause the PCM to open or close the IAC valve unintentionally which could cause the acceleration lurches.
You don't list it but was the TPS or any other sensors changed?

Your shop should have figured out at least the tranny issue with that TPS CEL code.

*** UPDATE*****

So I had the car back for a few days now. a week ago more codes came up, the same 02 sensor code, the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission, and the ABS sensor. The shop put a new vehicle speed sensor on. Throttle body been cleaned twice. the car is still doing that hard pulsating like it's trying to breathe. checked the air filter and its clean. At first I thought maybe all of this is my trans slipping, but after maybe 15-18 mins of driving it seems to shift normally. its that launch when your trying to accelerate and it literally wont speed up until you drop your foot to the floor.

just to make things easier I'm going to take it to the ford dealership for a full proper inspection., get all the 02 sensors changed, coolant flush and maybe get my catalytic converters checked cause what ever it is i have it narrowed down to the passenger side noise wise

Sounds kinda like some vacuum issues but also maybe torque convertor issues. What about the heads ? Any work done on those ? What engine ? 5.4 ?

From my knowledge the heads that came on the swap motor are on there seeing that my old ones were done for and yes it is a 5.4
