What to do with my Ranger?
I know this isn't directly related to F-150's but I thought I'd post it here to see what everyone's opinion is. (Mods, please move if inappropriate)
I have a 2WD '93 Ranger 4.5L that I need to get rid of and I'm trying to figure out if I should sell it on Craigslist / For Sale sign or just get one of those "We buy junk cars" places to come get it.
My HOA is harassing me to get it off the property ASAP because it isn't tagged anymore.
It was my DD for 11 years until I bought my F-150. It had the transmission serviced about 5 years ago and I had to get a new ECM about 3 years ago.
250,000+ on the OD.
The Good:
It starts and drives!
The Bad:
I lived on the beach for 9 years that I owned it so it has some rust. Not like "floorboards falling out rust".. The tailgate handle is rusted out (doesn't work) and there is some on the front cowl and a couple patches on the cab and bumpers.
The windshield is cracked.
Drivers side window doesn't roll down. Probably a faulty wire or switch.
Headliner is falling down.
Needs tires soon.
The ugly:
A/C doesn't work.
It needs new valve cover seals. I had to put a 1/4 qt. of oil in it about once a week. I can see where it is spitting it out onto the manifold on the driver side.
It has a sticky lifter. I can hear it tapping until the engine gets up to temp.
It probably needs transmission seals as well. I would have to put some in about every 200 miles.
It's a beater truck. At this point, I don't even know what it is worth or what I should do with it.

I, on the other hand, drove the **** out of it. It has 200,000+ on the OD.
I looked on Craigslist and I see them (1993) priced from $1200 to $400.
Seriously, I'd be happy to get $500 if possible but I don't know if it is even worth that, or more???

to be specific, i had a 91 2wd ranger with over 300k on it and a homemade rusted diamond plate flat bed (i am not a good welder) that was crushed by a deck on a 10 car, car hauler and i got $1000 for it... it ran fine but you'd have to be like 4ft to drive it after the cab was crushed... it was 8 years ago

Craigslist is free. List it up there for $800 and see what happens. If you need it to sell fast keep the price low. Be honest in your listing and mention the problems with the truck so you don't waste anybody's time (including yours).
