Yesterday I washed and waxed the truck.

And this afternoon I installed my LED reverse bulbs. Here's a pic comparison of the LED on the left versus the stock halogen on the right. For those that are curious, this is the bulb I went with:

LOL. Yep that's my brain bucket. It's extra clean since we had a structure fire at 0500 this morning that awoke me from my slumber.

I had a set of cree led's like those for my back up lights but found out rather quickly the little plastic socket just wasn't up to the task of holding that much weight, had to swap back in the stockers.

I'm thinking of getting something I can mount under the bumper as an alternative.

I was concerned about that too. I'm going to give it a try and see how they do. If they don't work I'm going to swap them out for a set of Feniex Cannons which are switch-back style. Ive heard of a lot of folks having real good results out of them and I can also get added use as a rear warning light.

Had to look those Cannons up $$$$ but in your line of work, I take it a fire fighter by the lingo above, worth the expense.

I wonder if it would be possible to make some sort of prop for the cree's I really like the ones I have but one of them fell out after I hit a bump and took me a little bit to fish it out of the lamp housing. Hmmm

My Expedition and F-150 are sitting around 4 fill up's a month, each. I've been putting a decent amount of miles on the F-150. My Excursion has had more time to sit since i got the pickup...it used to get a weekly fill up..at 8 MPG

Yeah they're pretty pricey but they are well worth it. Extremely bright and superior light distribution. And yes, I am a volunteer firefighter so I have some lights in my truck. No you can not see my truck from the next parish with them on.

I'm going to see if these hold up. Between my heavy right foot and all the horrendous roads we have if it can jar loose I can make it happen. They were pretty solidly held when I put them in but who knows.
