been a bad year. they're out there, but not biting. hoping it really turns around for the fall fishery. it was half decent at the start, but trailed off. here's the first catch of the year

Pretty good actually! Round here weve got some pretty big trout.

yeah trout are alright, they fill in nicely when these guys are outta season. I'm sure a lot of the problem is all the recreational boats driving the fish once the recreational fishery opens. gotta try to find them where you can be by yourself mostly. they were coming in pretty good before the recreational fishery opened. here's a couple landed before it opened, then a morning's catch from a good while ago, then a trip's worth of mud trout.

A couple days ago, here are some photos. The dogs and I went up to Polecat Bench near the Wyoming/Montana state line to a favorite hiking spot. My three hiking buddies are Miniature Australian Shepherds. Fun time!

Dog people are usually great people!
I have three dogs and my place at the lake is "the dog place".
Many others bring their dogs to my place to visit.
A great way to make friends.

I love dogs, usually better people than most humans. was it mark twain who said that the more he learned about humans, the more he liked his dogs. I agree.
