If you can find it, those thin rubber pads they make for dashboards would probably work well, the ones you can use to put cell phones or a GPS on them so they don't slide around.

Returned from a week in Oak Island, NC. Truck performed flawlessly, truly what we bought this vehicle for, such a great travel vehicle with the 157" WB and a cap. Packed this thing floor to ceiling with everything conceivable (food and drink wise) for a week at the beach with 12 people (6 adults and 6 kids), even had to borrow a trailer hitch carrier for another cooler, even had a mini fridge in there! My kids have no idea how good they have it, iPads, DVD players they got it made! I really liked the headrest iPad mount I picked up at Best Buy, worked great. Did the USB2 mod before the trip to free up the USB port for my wife's phone, plus it keeps the iPod out of plain sight.

Very pleased with the MPG's, this was completely loaded, AC on the entire trip, kids using both power points.

***reserved for pics, because the mobile app blows!***

I left Friday at 1:30 in the afternoon pulling our ParkLiner travel trailer from Catskill NY and made it to Gibsonville NC by 1 p.m. Saturday. Over 670 miles, I got 12.9 mpg. Left the F150 in loing term parking at the Raliegh airport, then flew home yesterday. Will fly back Friday with the wife, get my truck, head over to Gibsonville and get our trailer (getting a bunch of mods at the factory) and take our time coming home. Rented a Focus for the 4 days I'm home so I can get back and forth to work.

Got up under the truck and went to town on the frame with the drill and a wire brush Knocked off all the rust I could and covered the whole thing in Rustoleum rust reformer. Not a magic bullet, but gotta be better than doing nothing. Either way, it looks so much better under there.

What did you and your truck do today?-image-3452732888.jpg

It was really this Saturday, but got to go take the ATV to some off-road trails and the truck got to test out the new fox 2.0 suspension on some muddy roads to get there. It was a fun day minus having to clean off the vehicles that night

I did the same thing with everything behind the rear axle (including the axle), and have more to do before snow flies. I think it is very worthwhile, just most people don't do it and/or give a rat's whatever.

Yep, it's become a bit of an obsession. I'm on to the rocker panels next. Probably coat them with bedliner.
