bull, I did it myself. Only had to take the head off cause the one bolt that broke was behind the shock

Dropped my truck off at my local 4x4 shop to get her re-geared. Found out that I have the 8.8 rear end and not the 9.75. Also found out that one of my bearings is quite a bit larger than usual. They had to overnight it. Apparently it's all oem but rare. I'll get more details tomorrow.

Cut off my 2 chrome exhaust tips, so I am chrome free except headlight buckets!!! Getting turndowns tomorrow that will sit just under the rear leaf spring shackles.

You guys doing exhaust manifolds, look for a mechanic with the Matco stud extractor kit made for our trucks. It will be cheaper, and it's an indication they've been to this rodeo before. Also, while you're at it, get a set of shorty ceramic coated headers and a header bolt kit. I think mine ran 325, and I paid 500 for labor.

doesn't sound easy if you had to remove a head. Definitely not something Id even consider doing.

I really don't have a clue what tools he has but he said he's done these before. I looked at headers but decided against it due to labor cost.
I see youre near Albany. I am too.

Very cool. I always use the easy outs. But, I'm planning on having a Magnaflow welded in at the same time. Ordered a 2.5" SI/SO 24" case muffler. And the place I'm going to is where I get my inspection sticker on the Ranger so I like giving them the business.

When I was at the shop the guy pointed to two 150's and a 250 and then to a pile of manifolds in front of a dumpster, said "We do these all day long".

that was only because of the location of the broken stud. And honestly after dealing with the phaser issues on this truck, taking a head off is nothing but time. It's simple.
