I only have a cigar lighter in middle console, but, IF EQUIPPED, there can be 3 things. Cig Lighter, Parking Assist, and Traction Control.. Looks like you don't have Traction Control (TC or TCS on a button), and the previous owner did what a lot of people do and put a custom switch there. I guarantee its to that "sensor" you found.. Looks similar to a USB or some kind of port you could plug in and charge something, with an ON/OFF switch also.. But can't tell what it is or what you'd use it for, sorry!!!

Edit: Any questions I had on things like that, I'd call the dealership and demand they call the precious owner who traded it in. Got radio information, extra key to bedcover, keypad code, etc. Can you take 3-4 different pictures of the "sensor" from different angles? Someone is bound to know what the hell it is!!! Im curious now!

2nd edit: The console piece (piece on the shifter and 2 cupholders) comes off easily.. Open your center console lid, then pop the piece off, it comes straight up, then remove the 2 bolts holding in the ashtray/cubby hole, I can almost bet that "sensor" wire goes under the ashtray (there's an opening with wires coming through) and up to somewhere around the radio. Hell, might be an Auxillary port or something. Or pop the cigar/parking assist panel off and trace the wires from the switch to wherever it goes to get power)

Well I traced it to the back of the DVD player. I assume that my DVD player and TVs in the headrests are responsible for most of the jumbled mess under there too.

Looks like an IR receiver which makes sense because it looks like all the equipment is in the center console.

That way you can control the system using the remote without having to open the console.
