Completed disassembly, cleaned and reassembled my FX4'S rear diff. I broke the drivers axle almost a month ago and now it's ready to roll... sorta. The axle beat the hell out of the carrier as it snapped in the spider gear. I dismantled the e locker as far as you can without pulling the ring gear off the carrier and it still doesn't work upon reassembly. The magnet must be damaged in the coil is all I can guess. No matter as its all temporary anyhow as I wait for my new axles and a Detroit locker. It's all back ordered so it might be a couple weeks yet and I want the truck moving. I bought a used drivers shaft from a wrecker and then replaced the drivers bearing and seal as well. It was easy to clean the drivers axle tube with the old bearing and seal gone. The carrier came out of the pumpkin as it was right full of metal too. Should all be good for now until I get the new parts here. 12000 miles on the old 2013.. but that's what wheelhop nets you.

Yeah... these shafts are really special. They look big and heavy duty.... but it's your outer 1/4" or so that is actual hardened material... the rest of the inner core is just really porous cast that crumbles like sand. I will snap a pic of the busted shaft. Yes I am a 6.2. One that is getting ported heads, cams, long tubes, etc. If this will break stock that easily (stock Pirellis and all) I will make sure I have better stuff in it. I am going to try and get my a/c repaired under warranty while I am still stockish. ... that's the last warranty hurrah I will have with this truck lol. This will be the fifth time for the a/c now...
Oh... and yesterday the battery was dead in my 2013 XLT too... it has about 20000 miles now. It sits inside in warmth, keys were not in it and nothing was left on. Just dead enough to not crank the starter... well maybe 1/2 a turn. It was running 18 hours prior to that.... So we shall see what happens there. I charged it for 2 hours last night and my amp gauge on the charger showed a lot of draw that wasn't initially there when I hooked on the battery... i opened the doors and closed them but even after 15 minutes or so I still was pulling 40 amps on the battery when it should have been 20 or less to charge the battery itself... Initial charge was pulling maybe 15 amps.... the doors and lights spiked it to 40 which is expected... but that should go away once the lights and modules power down again.
Good thing my old 05 Sierra was still here and hasn't been taken by my apprentice yet... yard full of new Fords and just the old GM that still runs lol.
